Heid Roth Nipper Come Along

Type: Come Along
Manufacturer:Unknown
Patent:244149

Information from Jack Tanis:

A German patent (Patentschrift 244149) was issued 24 September 1910 to Reinhold Heid and Carl Roth for this design. The nipper was made during the 1910s and into the 1920s, with a feature that prevented the screws from turning, and then again from the mid to late 1940s to perhaps the late 1950s to early 1960s, without that feature, permitting the screws to be turned.

As to German mechanical nippers generally, the German term is Vorführzange, which translates to "moving forward pliers", or Schliesszange, which translates to "closing pliers".
